INPEX SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION (the Foundation) was established in March 1981 in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the founding of Indonesia Petroleum,
Ltd. the predecessor of INPEX CORPORATION. Since then, the Foundation has been engaged in activities aimed at fostering mutual understanding, friendship and goodwill between Indonesia and Japan through student exchanges.
From 2023, Australia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have also been added as eligible countries for scholarship support.
As of 31 March 2025, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to a total of 149 international students and 67 Japanese students.
In addition, starting in 2025, the Foundation has launched the “Scholarship Program” to support exchange students from overseas universities studying at Japanese universities, and the “ISF International Exchange Program” to invite high school students from Indonesia, Australia and the UAE to Japan to interact with Japanese high school students.
