About

While there are many organizations that provide scholarships for international students, most of them target students who have already arrived in Japan and are enrolled in universities or graduate schools. In contrast, our Foundation accepts applications from prospective students residing overseas who wish to pursue a master’s degree in Japan, with the selection process completed prior to their departure.

Applicants are free to choose their destination university. They select the Japanese graduate school or research laboratory of their choice, contact the prospective supervisor directly, and are required to submit a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from that supervisor at the time of application.

The scholarship covers round-trip travel expenses, Japanese language study fees prior to departure, full coverage of examination fees, admission fees and tuition fees as well as monthly living expenses.

Regarding scholarship support for Japanese students, while many Japanese scholarship organizations focus on those studying in Europe or North America, our Foundation targets study destinations in Indonesia, Australia, and the UAE.
